TomTom Rider – as used by Paris Hilton

Ok, so it’s maybe not the most sound endorsement of a product, especially since the girl has been known to endorse just about anything retailers throw at her (handknitted jumpers for dogs and all), but it has got people interested in TomTom’s latest product. The Rider is the first ever portable GPS unit for made for motorbikes, and with features such as
a touchscreen made to be used even with big bike gloves on, and a tough, water resitant exterior, it’s more than just a special mount that makes this especially for bikers.

So we can’t all have a rhinestone encrusted one like Paris’ (above), but it is a good looking, simply designed device…(below)

TomTom Rider on Bike

TomTom have put a lot of thought into making this device as dedicated to Bikers as they can. It comes with a Bluetooth headset, allowing you to follow vocal instructions while keeping your eyes on the road, and even answer calls with a compatible mobile phone.

Unfortunately – this is where my review has to end, I am not a biker, and have no idea if the TomTom Rider is as good in practice as it is on paper. BUT while my review can’t go beyond aesthetics and listed features, a biker-type-bloke in my office has offered to test the Rider out for me properly. So keep checking Jill’s Corner over the next week and find out how the Rider rates when Steven puts it to the test properly.
