Through various geeky methods, the techs of the web have discovered that HP will be launching the iPAQ hw6900 series. HP have released a document on their website that confirms that the PDA phones conform to EU regulations. The PDAs will succeed the current hw6500 series with at least two new models, the hw6910 (upgrade from the camera-less 6510) and the hw6915 (successor to the 6515 PDA camera phone).
The document also mentions the hw6920, 6925, 6940, 6945 and 6965, although there are no SKU numbers for these potential products. Last August HP “accidently” posted specifications for the 6710 and 6715 iPAQs and the latest models are assumed to be the 6700 series with a cunning new name and altered spec.
So…word on geek street is that the hw6900 family will feature 416MHz processors (hw6500 series are 312MHz), Windows Mobile 5.0, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Quad-band phones and at least 192MB of internal memory (versus the 6500 series’ 128MB).
Have a heart for the iPAQ fans among us who wait with baited breath for confirmation of these latest models, and if you find out anything let me know!
