TomTom Announces High Definition Traffic Service

TomTom have just released their new TomTom High Definition Traffic service in the Netherlands, a collaboration between TomTom and Vodaphone aimed at improving traffic data available to TomTom users. The service combines anonymous GSM services with existing traffic sources, resulting in vastly improved traffic data covering 10 times more roads, and with 5 times more updates than current traffic services.

The new high definition service will be available for the first time with the new TomTom ONE XL HD Traffic and should be launched in the UK the first half of 2008.
