This August sees the release of the Blackberry Curve 8520, Blackberry’s new entry-level smartphone designed to provide a device which is both affordable and which lives up to the lifestyle needs of today’s business user.
The new handset features a slim, simplified design, along with dedicated media keys for easy access to music and multimedia, as well as trackpad navigation for simple menu browsing with finger gestures. Designed with multimedia file-sharing in mind, you can take photos or videos and upload them to photo sharing apps like Flickr Uploader or social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. You can also send them to friends with MMS messages, BlackBerry Messenger or other instant messaging applications.
In addition to these new features, the Blackberry Curve 8520 includes a 2 megapixel camera with video recording mode, WiFi radio, 1,150mAh battery (good for 4.5 hours of talk time), a multimedia player and a 320 x 240 resolution display. The device also promises out-of-the-box Mac compatibility with the upcoming release of BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, which allows you to sync contacts, calendars, and notes with the applications you use the most.
Due mid August, the new handset promises to address the needs of those people currently using a mid range phone, whilst providing the business essential features synonymous with the Blackberry platform.
