Mio announces new Total Refresh service for new and existing customers

Satnav manufacturer Mio has announced that it will offer its new  ‘Total Refresh’ service. Available to new and existing customers in Western Europe, the service will provide users with up-to-date maps provided by Tele Atlas and the latest content and safety camera information supplied by RoadPilot Ltd.

The Total Refresh 30-day guarantee and two-year Total Refresh Pack will be launched along with a new policy on map updates for Mio’s range of personal navigation devices. Available to purchase in the Mio eStore, full European maps and Western European safety cameras are available for £119, Western European maps and Western European safety cameras are priced at £89 and maps and safety camera updates for a single European region will cost £69.

Explore exciting new territories with the Navman Spirit

navman-spiritMio recently announced the release of a brand new sat nav lineup – the Navman Spirit range. The new models feature the latest Spirit software, which uses a simple menu system that takes you to all of the features within a couple of ‘taps’. The software update also features enhancements to interactivity with a new slidetouch screen, which brings up windows that glide on and off to make navigation simple and efficient.

The new range features four models: The Spirit 300 Traffic, Spirit 500 Traffic, Spirit 500 Hands-Free Traffic and the Spirit Flat Hands-Free Traffic. As the names suggest, all models feature live traffic updates and come with a free 12 months traffic subscription for dynamic updates on route. Whilst the Spirit 300 sports a 3.5” touchscreen display, the remaining models feature a large 4.7” display. The Spirit 500 Hands-Free Version and Spirit Flat also feature Bluetooth for hands-free calling and Google Search functionality. Full specifications are as follows:

When you reach your destination, you can instantly transform your navigation experience by touching the ‘Explore’ button on the Spirit menu to activate Explore Mode. A virtual circle highlights your current location, along with all of the Points of Interest (POIs) in the surrounding area, so you can discover all of the best attractions. With directions to local restaurants, pubs and more at the touch of a button, you can explore your surroundings and make the most of your trip.

Alternatively, you can browse the maps of any location before you set off so you can plan your POI visits in advance. Once you have a route planned, your POIs and other useful places of interest are highlighted along the way.

The Navman Spirit range comes pre-loaded with Travel Books from Wcities, providing in-depth listings of tourist attractions, places to eat, stay and visit. You can also choose from a selection of hundreds of Travel Books available for download by connecting to MioMore Desktop 2 via your PC.

The A501 features the latest SiRFstar III GPS receiver, providing coverage from up to 20 satellites, with intuitive mapping and route planning.
