In honour of the August bank holiday (and an extra day off work), we’ve decided to do something special to celebrate. Its that time of year again when the fabulous T3 hold their annual gadget awards.
Last year saw HTC take home the glory as the Hero won the award for phone of the year. Voted in as a wildcard listing, the Hero romped to victory over the likes of the Palm Pre, the Nokia N97 and surprisingly, the Apple iPhone 3GS.
This year HTC will be hoping to repeat that success with not one but TWO handsets in the final 5. Alongside the Samsung Wave, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and this year’s wildcard – the iPhone 4, HTC are being represented by the Desire and the Legend.
Will the trend continue from last year with the wild card stealing the show or will the Hero poetically pass the baton to the Legend? Again.
Voting closes September the 16th with the winner to be announced in October, who will you be voting for?

Microsoft has confirmed who’ll be taking Windows Phone 7 to the Christmas party.
Speaking exclusively to Pocket-lint, senior product manager for Microsoft, Greg Sullivan confirmed that ASUS, Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung will all be releasing handsets at the Windows phone 7 launch later in the year. Unfortunately, there was no indication of a confirmed go date but vaguely stated it should be “some time round the holidays”.
The line-up of manufacturers and the launch timing slots in nicely with the rumoured HTC HD3, the LG Panther and the Dell Lightning but what delights will ASUS and Samsung have in store for the big day?

Unless you’ve been living in a hole in the ground or are currently in a coma (in which case, kudos for still being able to read this), you’ll know that today is the opening ceremony of the World Cup and even though Scotland somewhat surprisingly didn’t qualify to play with the big boys, the TotalPDA team are still super excited. Like most places we’ve had a whole host of World Cup activities to keep us amused and get us all in the spirit for the month to come. I would appreciate some support from you all for South Africa to win, I get my grubby paws on the sweepstake money if they do. […]
